From Stocktonia: Stockton City Council Enters Agreement with Home Depot
Here's a story I wrote for publication on March 19, 2025 about the Stockton City Council agreeing to enter a 20-year agreement with The Home Depot, Inc.,, which could net the city $500,000 t0 $1 million annually. The agreement will also create at least 100 jobs, with an additional 200 to 300 seasonal jobs, according to a report from the city presented at the March 18, meeting.
The Home Depot is also building a 600,000 to 700,000 e-commerce distribution center at the Port of Stockton.
I've said this before, but it bears repeating. This type of news coverage appeared regularly in local media outlets as a written and recorded record of how public officials manage the public's tax dollars. It is vitally important to keep a record of the decisions made locally, to keep the voting public informed, and to keep elected officials accountable.
